Dr. Bill Harrison
1942-2019

A PIONEER IN SPORTS VISION
Dr. Bill Harrison loving husband, father, grandfather, community optometrist and sports vision pioneer, lost his 4-year battle with squamous cell skin cancer on May 4, 2019.

Dr. Bill Harrison  began his work in professional baseball began in 1971 with the Kansas City Royals.  Baseball Hall of Fame star George Brett was among the first players he trained.  He worked  with world-class athletes in various sports  as they prepared for competition with Dr. Harrison's methods.

Many considered him to be one of this country's premier mind for sports enhancement.   He was featured on shows such as Mike Douglas Show,  ESPN,  MLB Network.  He has written or been featured in  GQ, Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Mag, Collegiate Baseball, USA Today and much more.  He is also the  co-author of 3 books, “How2Focus: Like the Pros,” “How2Focus: The Hitter’s Zone,” and “How2Focus: The Pitcher’s Zone.”

Over those 48 years Dr. Bill  consulted with 15 MLB organizations, PGA golfers, various Olympic athletes  and numerous NCAA programs.

The Dr. William D. Harrison Memorial Fund has been created by his alma mater to continue the legacy of Dr. Bill Harrison's pioneering and passion for Sports Vision.  The fund will be used to promote and support the growth of the Sports Vision Program at the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry. This will benefit the education of optometrists and serve the athletic community.
